Doha, 4 December 2017 - QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, signed with Qatar Chamber a sponsorship agreement to be the main official sponsor of ‘Made in Qatar 2017’ Exhibition.
Mr. Salem Al Nuaimi, Acting General Manager at QNB’s Group Communications, and Mr. Saleh Hamad al-Sharqi, Director General of Qatar Chamber, signed the sponsorship agreement at the Chamber’s headquarters in Doha yesterday.
Organized by Qatar Chamber in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, ‘Made in Qatar 2017’ Exhibition will be held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on December 14 - 17.
Speaking at the press conference after the signing ceremony of the agreement, Mr. Salem Al Nuaimi, Acting General Manager at QNB’s Group Communications, said: “It is a great honor for QNB to be a key sponsor of ‘Made in Qatar 2017’ Exhibition and support its objectives.”
“This sponsorship agreement affirms the bank’s great interest in supporting events that promote national products and contribute to developing economic growth, which is an essential part of the Qatar National Vision 2030,” says Al Nuaimi.
"QNB’s sponsorship of this event stems from its firm commitment towards fostering local industry and promoting the locally-manufactured products in the Qatari market in the pursuit of achieving self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on imported items, including foodstuffs,” says Al Nuaimi.
He underlined the bank’s “continuous commitment” towards supporting such events and exhibitions that contribute to enhancing local production for the benefit of the local economy and industry. In conclusion, Al Nuaimi wished success for ‘Made in Qatar 2017’ Exhibition.
For his part, Mr. Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi, Director General of Qatar Chamber, said: “We highly appreciate QNB’s keenness on enhancing and boosting the national industry, which significantly reflects its strenuous efforts for developing the private sector and providing financial facilitations to businessmen and entrepreneurs, particularly in industry sector of its all various kinds.”
“This year’s edition will run in parallel with the celebration of National Day,” he said.
Al-Sharqi expressed hope that the expo would contribute to strengthening communication ties between leading Qatari businessmen and manufacturers, and the development of the country’s industrial sector, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
