QNB continues to support blind and visually impaired

Doha, 8 February 2023 – QNB, one of the largest financial institutions in the Middle East and Africa, announced its exclusive partnership with the Qatar Paralympic Committee (QPC) during the West Asian Goalball Championship for the blind - Ajman 2023 hosted by the UAE on February 9 – 17, with the participation of ten countries from the West Asian region.
This partnership comes within the framework of the bank's keenness to support the Qatar’s efforts in empowering people with special needs, supporting their mental and physical health, and providing them with easy access to sports. 
It also highlights QNB’s vision that combines CSR goals with its determination to encourage talents who are an inspiration and strive to be role model for youth.
The initiative also reflects the Group's commitment to the pillars of the QNV 2030 goals to empower and integrate people with disabilities through various sustainable development and capacity building programmes and the consolidation of a culture of excellence in the society.
Ms. Heba Ali Al Tamimi, Senior Executive Vice President of QNB Group Communications, said: “Within our preparations to celebrate the National Sport Day, we are proud to renew our support for the sport of goalball which embodies the positive values of sport as a powerful tool for social integration and inclusion. Goalball is not like any other game, it is the perfect outlet for the visually impaired or blind, which can lead them to gold in international competitions.”
Qatar’s national team, which claimed the gold medal of the 2019 West Asian Para Games, has conducted at the QPC headquarters its preparatory training for the championship due to kick-off on the 9th of February.
