Doha, 27 January 2020 – QNB Group, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), has announced its diamond sponsorship of the 2020 Compliance and Combating Financial Crime Forum due to be held from 29-30 January the auspices and presence of H.E. the Governor of the Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Abdulla Bin Saoud Al-Thani.
The 2020 Compliance and Combating Financial Crime Forum is organized by The World Union of Arab Banks and hosted by Qatar Central Bank as part of regional efforts to counter the escalating pattern of financial crime. The forum will discuss cyber-crime, the various forms of financial crimes and the methods for detecting suspicious activities in Qatar.
QNB’s sponsorship of this important forum comes as part of the Group’s commitment to combating the increasing spread of financial crimes, especially the increasing resort to cybercrime that accompanies the accelerating digitization of this age.
