Doha, 3 December 2011- In line with its support to the economic integration between the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and in contribution to enhancing the investments in Islamic countries, QNB announced its sponsorship of the Second Annual Conference of the Business Owners Union and Business Youth Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The Conference will be held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani, Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, from 4 to 5 December 2011, at Doha Sheraton Hotel. The conference is organized in cooperation with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
High dignitaries will attend the conference, including the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chairman of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President of the Islamic Development Bank and Chairmen of Chambers of Commerce and Industries in the OIC. This year's event will attract an estimated 1500 participants comprising business leaders, investors and government officials from over 40 countries.
Through this sponsorship, QNB aims to realize the Conference's objectives which include the launching of the largest Business Portal in the Islamic World (data bank) serving all the business sectors in addition to providing opportunities to seriously increase the size of investments and trade between businesses in the private sector.
This conference comes after the great success of the first conference held in Jeddah, where 53 commercial projects were presented, contributing to the increase of investments among the Islamic countries.
The conference will present to investors and financing entities economically feasible projects to encourage them to engage in these projects. Products, services and financing opportunities will also be presented by investors and funders. Furthermore, the conference will provide a chance for the young entrepreneurs to build their projects and reinforce economic exchange between the members of the Union Member States in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in 57 countries.
The conference will highlight the promotion of exchange among the Union members to increase investment and trade activities and provide the right environment to conduct meetings between entrepreneurs and investors. The conference will also present products and investment opportunities and commercial agencies available in Islamic countries.
