Doha, 17 April 2010 - Qatar National Bank (QNB) has launched the first Mobile Banking application in the country for BlackBerry mobile users as part of its continuous drive to develop innovative products and services for its customers.

An extension of the Bank’s eazylife suite of electronic banking services (e-services), the QNB Mobile Banking application (eazymobile) is a multi-purpose tool that gives customers secure access to a range of banking services through any mobile phone, as well as the recently added BlackBerry handsets.

The launch of QNB’s eazymobile application on BlackBerry is the fruit of extensive behind-the-scenes work to ensure customers can confidently enjoy a fast and secure banking experience while on the go. The application is tailored to be used by everyone and features a simple and secure interface. The service was also tested extensively prior to launch to ensure a hassle free customer experience.

QNB considers innovation one of the cornerstones of a sustainable banking relationship and is committed to delivering an enhanced experience. In an age when mobility is essential and efficiency is paramount, eazymobile will serve customers well as it is a functional tool that complements and supports the Bank’s eazylife services.

The first such application launched by a Qatari bank, eazymobile on BlackBerry offers customers the ability to fully manage their finances via their mobile phones, offering them easier access than traditional phone banking systems.

Customers can review their accounts, credit cards and transaction activity as well as review summary statements on their phone displays. They can also check available credit on their credit cards and transfer funds between their own QNB accounts. The service also permits customers to pay Kahrama utilities bills as well as Qtel bills.

Other extended services bundled with QNB’s eazymobile service include reviewing current market activity on the Qatar Exchange, foreign currency exchange rates and interest rates. Customers can also view QNB’s latest news and promotions via a regularly updated news feed.

The eazymobile application connects to QNB’s secure banking network via internet services provided over GPRS, 3G, WLAN or WiFi connections which are available through any telecommunications provider or at designated hotspots in public areas.

The BlackBerry application on eazymobile is a major addition to the Bank’s eazylife suite of electronic banking channels, which consists of eazyinternet, eazymobile, eazyphone, eazySMS, eazyATM and eazystatement, which gives customers access to QNB’s services at home, at the office or whilst on the move.

All QNB customers that have registered for the eazyinternet service can log in to QNB’s eazymobile application using their existing username and password. Customers who do not have registered eazyinternet accounts should register online at http://ib.qnb.com.qa prior to using the eazymobile service.

QNB’s eazymobile service is easy to set up and can be accessed 24 hours a day, both from Qatar or whilst travelling abroad, provided customers have access to the internet.

The eazymobile service on BlackBerry can be installed by sending a text message (SMS) consisting of the word “mobile” to 92777, or by calling QNB’s Customer Care Center at 4407777.
