Doha, 18 February 2019 -- QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, has announced its participation as a Diamond Sponsor in the Tarsheed Carnival organized by the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) from 19 to 28 February at the Kahramaa Awareness Park in Al Thumama.
The week-long carnival is a national program for water conservation and energy efficiency. The main goal of the Tarsheed Carnival is to raise awareness about the rational use of electricity and water to achieve water and electric sustainability.
The Carnival will include many events and awareness activities during morning and evening sessions. Tarsheed is the National Program for the Conservation and Energy Efficiency, which aims to reduce water consumption per capita by 15 percent and electricity by eight percent by 2022.
QNB's participation in this event comes as part of both its CSR program and its recently launched sustainability program, in which the Bank aligned its sustainability goals with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and the Qatar Stock Exchange guidance on sustainable initiatives.
