Doha, 3 June 2015 –QNB, “One of the World’s Strongest Banks”, organized a workshop in cooperation with the Qatar Business Women Association (QBWA).
The workshop was held at the Sharq Village and Spa, wherein QNB was represented by its QNB SME division. During the workshop, the SME division presented its products and services and detailed the support it can offer to the QBWA and Qatari business women in general.
Commenting on the event, Hamad Al-Jamali, Acting AGM- SME at QNB Group , said: “We are pleased to organize this workshop in cooperation with the QBWA and our partners. As the largest bank in Qatar and ‘One of the World’s Strongest Banks’, we are committed and well-placed to offer strong support to small and medium enterprises in our country. This helps Qatari entrepreneurs set up their business and edge closer to realizing their dreams of success, as well as help our beloved Qatar in realizing its 2030 national vision.”
Mrs. Buthaina Al Ansari, who spoke in the event on behalf of the QBWA, commented:” we are pleased to activate the agreement with QNB and work closely with them to provide women entrepreneurs in Qatar with access to capital and technical assistance through QNB and other key players in the local market.”
The Qatari Businesswomen Association was established in 2000 to enhance women’s contribution to economic activity, which constitutes a real gain both to Qatari women and Qatari society at large. The Qatari Businesswomen Association is chaired by H.E Sheikha Al Anood Bint Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani, and managed by a number of prominent Businesswomen who have a history of success in many businesses in different sectors that they work in or manage. QBWA organizes a number of activities, conferences and Programmes that support Qatari women and has played a distinguished role in enhancing women’s contribution in pushing the economic wheel towards the strategic growth that we are witnessing today, and in line with the wise vision that the government has set.
Partners that actively supported the event through presenting their products and services in support of business women include QDB,
the Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) and Bedaya. QDB offers many products and services, including funding support for businesses through the Al Dhameen programme. QBIC is a leading business mixed incubation center, providing business support services to help entrepreneurs and companies start or grow their businesses. The center empowers entrepreneurs by coaching and mentoring them, investing in their businesses, providing them with office or workshop space, and connecting them with people.
Bedaya Center is the destination of choice for young people in the country and provides Qatari youth access to a wide range of services, including career guidance, self-assessment, employability skill development, employability and entrepreneurship, mentoring opportunities, volunteering, practical training, networking activities, and lecturing programmes. The Center holds several events monthly.
