QNB continues to develop its Human Capital offering to meet growing Group needs and requirements

Doha, October 26, 2014 – QNB, One of the World’s Strongest Banks, has recently held a series of developmental and skills enhancing initiatives for employees as part of its ongoing Human Capital strategy to be seen as an “Employer of Choice” in Qatar and as a driver of excellence across its growing international operations.

The important events that took place were a Certified Management Development Programme Ceremony, the completion of the fourth series of the Qatari Staff Induction Programmes held this year and a Corporate Credit Analysis Programme conducted to international best practice standards.

Commenting on the significance of the various initiatives undertaken, Yousef Al-Othman (GM, Group Human Capital Division) said:

With that in mind, we are constantly looking at ways of developing and enhancing our offering to existing and new employees to ensure that we have the best employee talent both here in Qatar and overseas.

The 3 events recently undertaken reinforce our desire to be seen as an “Employer of Choice” and are important developments in preparing our employees for their careers with MENA’s leading financial institution”.

The Certified Management Development Programme is part of QNB Group’s Talent Management Programme which has the purpose of building and strengthening the management and leadership capabilities of QNB’s growing expansion programme. The third programme of its type, run in conjunction with Aon Hewitt, the MDP consists of a diverse series of integrated workshops spread over a three month period The organized workshops to develop leadership skills are supported by the completion of a number of work based assignments. A Ceremony was held recently at the QNB Offices at Al-Mathaf to celebrate the recent graduates emerging from the Programme.

The Induction Programme incorporates a 6 week course composed of 12 modules into a 9 days of “on the job training” for new groups of employees. An important component of the Human Capital Annual Strategy, the Induction Programme prepares employees for their roles working with the biggest bank in Qatar and directs them towards the best-fit roles for their skills sets within the Group. The recent Graduation Ceremony, again held at QNB Offices at Al-Mathaf, was the fourth undertaken this year by Human Capital.

The Corporate Credit Analysis Programme is designed to provide employees with a structured methodology and working practice of corporate credit analysis from an advanced perspective. This includes the disciplines of legal convenants, cash flow statements and debt service cover ratio workings. These combine to give participants a good knowledge and understanding of the key elements of working capital.
