QNB Waives Minimum Balance Requirement To Confirm Its Support To Its Customers

Doha, 21 July 2009 - Qatar National Bank (QNB) announced that in line with its continuing efforts to enhance its products and services QNB customers holding Current, Savings, Savings Plus & Call Accounts at the Bank will no longer have to maintain a minimum balance of funds in their accounts. They will however continue to receive the same benefits as usual. The offer has been in effect since 1 July 2009.

This service gives all QNB account holders the ability to maintain zero-balances in their accounts while still earning credit for all funds maintained in deposit, qualifying for special promotions and receiving preferential service rates wherever applicable.

This initiative is part of QNB’s commitment to providing the best banking solutions to its customers. The Bank prides itself on being the people’s partner and the leader in offering the best deals on the market.

The Bank will also reduce the tariffs on a number of other banking products and services. These include a reduction of charges, by up to 50%, for services such as safety deposit box rental, cheque books uncollected for up to one month, personalized debit card replacements, and inward money transfers if credited to the beneficiary's bank in Qatar.

Reduced charges are now also applicable for counter cheques, standing order utility payment rejections due to insufficient funds and post-dated cheques.

In addition, QNB's many free services will continue to be offered to all customers without any changes. These include utility payments through direct debit, standing orders, inward money transfers, issuance of standard cheque books, QNB debit cards, ATM withdrawals within Qatar, as well as all many telephonic and website transaction, as well as QNB SMS alerts and account activity updates.
