Doha, 19 January 2013 – Qatar National Bank (QNB) Group has pulled the stops to participate in the second annual sports day for the second consecutive year. QNB’s participation comes in line with last year’s Amiri decree issued by the Heir Apparent, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. According the decree, Qatar will observe National Sports Day on the second Tuesday of February every year.
To mark this event, QNB has formed a committee to tailor a special program, and line up a number of activities for the day. The formation of this committee stems from QNB’s social responsibility program “CSR” that aims at giving back to the community, as part of being a good corporate citizen, and as a fact that QNB is the largest financial institution in the State of Qatar and the wider MENA region, that supports most of the state’s initiatives especially in sports. QNB makes sure to reflect those initiates through its huge business network and its branches spreading in more than 24 countries worldwide.
During the last year’s event, QNB organised a marathon at Aspire zone, that attracted a good number of employees, families and a large a number of clients and public who praised and enjoyed the event.
