Doha, October,9th, 2013. As part of a humanitarian initiative to help patients, QNB employees participated today in the two-day blood donation campaign held at their two main office locations in Doha. The campaign, run in conjunction with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has a dual purpose; to provide the HMC’s Blood Bank with valuable supplies of additional blood stocks that helps in the saving of many patients lives and raising the awareness levels of employees about the importance of donating blood and its health benefits to donators.
QNB is committed, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, to help society endeavour to improve health and well being considerations. The Blood Donation campaign promotes social responsibility at an individual and collective level and its efforts to reach a broad cross-section of society is fully supported by the leading bank in Qatar. This all combines to playing an important social role in the National 2030 Vision about promoting a healthier and caring society.
HMC was delighted to witness its field campaign being endorsed by many QNB employees who willingly contributed their blood group supplies to the worthwhile cause. Employees were drawn from Departments, Branches and Head Office and some customers also took part in the two-day exercise.
Given the success of the campaign, it is hoped to repeat the exercise again in the future.
