Doha, 5 June, 2016 – QNB, a leading financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Qatar Banking Studies and Business Administration Independent Secondary School for Boys (QBSBAS) to help train the school’s students across the Bank’s divisions.

The MOU was signed on behalf of the QBSBAS school for boys by Mr. Ahmed Yousef Al Mahmoud, principal of the school, and on behalf of QNB by Mrs Nada Ahmed Al Ansari - Executive Manager of QNB’s Centre of Excellence.

The new MOU is a continuation of the great cooperation between QNB and QBSBAS, marking the Bank’s continued cooperation with this important educational institution, to which QNB provides full support, including the Bank’s sponsorship of the school and its attendance of all the school’s events.

The agreement is based on 3 main parts, which are QNB’s acceptance of supervised visits by QBSBAS students to the bank’s branches and divisions to observe the banking work environment and operations, the provision of training sessions to the students in order to introduce them to the world of banking and teach them the basic banking processes and procedures as well as job shadowing sessions with QNB staff to help them on their future careers, and QNB’s provision of banking lessons at the school to the students to give them an insight into the world of banking and finance.

Commenting on the signing, Mrs Al Ansari said: “Signing this MOU with the school hereby signifies the continuation of our cooperation and support to the QBSBAS school for boys. We hereby extend our welcome to this future generation of bankers and encourage them to participate in the visits and lessons in order to gain a good introduction to the banking industry and form a solid understanding of its operations, so that they may benefit from this knowledge in their future careers.”

Cooperation under the new MOU is currently proceeding, with the QBSBAS boys school having organised a visit to QNB premises for a number of students over 3 days, during which they were welcomed in the Group’s offices and taken on an introductory tour by QNB staff and management, who showed them the working environment inside the Bank’s offices and gave them a basic introduction to banking operations within QNB’s international network.
